“The universe is transformation;
our lives are what our thoughts make it.”
- Marcus Aurelius Antoninus
I started doing standup comedy almost two years ago, and I thought by now I’d give it up and move on. I recently heard we have to do something for 10,000 hours before we are really skillful at something. I have a long way to go before reaching that 10,000 mark.
I’m learning small restaurants and bars are some of the best places to practice and develop as a comic. A few months ago I had the worst heckler ever, she talked, or should I say yelled, throughout the entire show. Last night, a man selling watches walked into the Shangrila hawking his wares. He was standing almost right in front of me holding up the watches. I called him out and interviewed him on stage. It was too good to be true. I wanted to ask him who paid you to come do this and thanks for the great show. JMD
