Public eye

Being in the public eye is hazardous. I met a woman recently who said, “let me introduce you to my daughter, she’s in college now, she grew up watching you on TV.” And at least once a week a viewer will comment on my weight. In my 20s, I’d hear you look better in person, lately I hear you look better on TV. And then there are those who just stare not sure where they’ve seen you. I’m just a reporter; those poor TV anchors can’t even throw out the trash. JMD

Lost 91lbs for the third time. Put on 8 pounds over the holidays and I’m realizing how heavy that is. And I am getting sick and tired of being just a taco under 250lbs. Today, I will eat only to fuel my body. JMD

As a reporter I think of Dorien Thomas and Josh Davis Jr. often. Dorien went missing in 1998 in Amarillo and Josh just last year in New Braunfels. God help us!
